Japan breaks web speed record with 319 TBS

Many gigabytes of Internet speed records from the last decade are no longer straightforward. The motherboard announced that researchers at Japan's National Institute of Information and Communication Technology (NICT) broke the Internet transmission record by blending information at 319 TBPS.. In essence, it is more than double the 179TBS found by a team of British and Japanese investigators in August 2020.

NICT achieved this by improving almost every pipeline step. The fiber optic line had four cores instead of one, and the researchers fired a 552 comb laser at multiple wavelengths with the help of rare earth amplifiers. Although limited to the test board, the team used integrated fiber to transmit data over a distance of 1,864 miles without losing signal quality or speed.

As with most of these tests, it may take a long time before these operations can have a significant impact. Although quad-core fiber will work with existing networks, this system can easily cost. It may be used for the first time with Internet spaces and other large network projects where power is more important than cost.

However, it may still affect your use of the Internet. NICT researchers view fiber production technology “beyond 5G” (as 6G) as the best use for their next generation. You can easily see the benefits of switching to Internet access as soon as you have a large number of users.
